BEACON FOR HOPE SUICIDE PREVENTION
THE CLIENT
Beacon for Hope is a non-profit organization based in Emporia, Kansas that is dedicated to preventing suicide and supporting people in their hour of need, survivors, and the family of people who have attempted or completed suicide.
THE BRIEF - Light the Way for Hope, Suicide Prevention Walk & Fun Run
The client needed a logo for their annual walk/fun run hosted with Hornet's For Hope, the suicide prevention student organization at Emporia State University. They wanted something eye catching and bright, and needed to have several pieces of information incorporated into the publicity materials and on the shirts.
The event encouraged participants to choose and then hang a ribbon (either blue, turquoise, purple, or orange) on the ESU campus according to their relationship to suicide or someone who had attempted or completed suicide.
They requested a flyer/poster sized layout, a postcard layout, a 3x6' banner layout, and shirts to be given to event participants.
THE BRIEF - Hope Links Us Together, Suicide Prevention Walk & Fun Run
Similar to the Light the Way walk, the client needed a logo for their annual walk/fun run. They wanted something eye catching and bright, and needed to have several pieces of information incorporated into the publicity materials and on the shirts.
They also requested that a chain or paper link chain be incorporated into the design.
They requested a flyer/poster sized layout, a postcard layout, and t-shirt design to be given to event participants. This design had the organization logo on the back of the shirt, as opposed to the front.

THE BRIEF - General materials
Beacon for Hope needed a newsletter template that incorporated their logo, name, contact information, and could be easily editable to send out. The template also needed to feature the organization's colors (the suicide prevention ribbon colors) prominently. We designed an editable PDF that can be easily altered, and included a space for listing upcoming events.
The organization also asked for a variation on the "Hope Links us Together" motto to create a t-shirt to sell for general fundraising.
